ETTS is a Pembrokeshire based company specialising in electrical installations; from commercial and industrial installations, through caravan parks and filling stations to armouries and oil seperators, we look after them all.

Started in 1953 by Colin Butherway, the business has evolved over the years to become the specialist contractor it is today.

From wiring Roch Castle back in the 1950’s, through all electrical installation, refrigeration, as well as appliance sales and repairs, the business now specialises in Electrical Testing and Maintenance of electrical installations. We at ETTS can look after your equipment to ensure both compliance with current legislation, and efficient and reliable operation. Whether a full maintenance and compliance contract to one-off repairs and testing, we are here for you.

From 2010, ETTS has become a beacon of excellence in electrical contracting within Pembrokeshire and beyond. As NICEIC approved contractors and hazardous area specialists, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality in every project. Our commitment to excellence extends to our HERS (Highway Electrical Registration Scheme) accreditation and membership with the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA), ensuring we are at the forefront of industry developments and standards.

At the core of ETTS are our directors, both JIB-qualified electricians, who bring over 50 years of combined experience to the table. Their extensive knowledge and hands-on expertise are the driving forces behind our reputable and reliable service, ensuring that every client receives the utmost professional care and technical proficiency.

Ian Butherway

Son of Colin, now running the office from quote through design and certification, health and safety paperwork to final account. JIB Approved Electrician with C&G 2391 inspection and testing qualification, and Member of the Institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET). Following an apprenticeship with his father, Ian left the business to pursue other interests, including 5 years in the Army (REME).

On re-joining the business in 1990 Ian started to steer the business into specialist areas, including the early years of periodic testing, petrol stations and street lighting.

George Wandrum

George joined the business in 2001 as an apprentice. He quickly showed his ability within electrical engineering, and in 2010 became a director of the company.

He is a JIB electrician, is the NICEIC qualifying supervisor for commercial work and hazardous area work. To this end he holds Compex (Hazardous area) qualifications 1-4, 5-6, and 7-8, encompassing work on petrol stations, armouries, explosive stores and explosive dust atmospheres.

He is our HERS approved person and looks after the electricians training regime, which is ongoing.
